We are a private medical practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the retina and vitreous. Established in 1977 in Sacramento, we have since expanded to provide coverage for much of Northern California. In addition to two locations in Sacramento, we now have offices in Stockton, Modesto, Vacaville, Chico, Elk Grove, and Grass Valley. Our physicians are nationally recognized for excellence and our goal is to provide unsurpassed care.

Charge Coder
  • Code from Superbills
  • Transmit claims
  • Must have experience and understanding of coding and modifier requirements for all payers
Clinic In-Charge
  • Oversee clinical office operations
  • Supervise and continuously train office staff
  • Schedule and maintain clinic coverage at all times
  • Maintain clinic equipment and inventory
  • Innovate and implement continuously to improve clinic flow
  • Knowledge of Nextgen software program preferred
Front Desk
  • Perform check-in & check-out
  • Obtain authorizations
  • Verify patient eligibility
  • Schedule appointments
  • Handle telephone communications
Medical Collector (Patient Account Representative)
  • Experience and skills to complete claims and collections process required
  • Thorough understanding of HMOs, PPOs, Medi-Cal, and/or Medicare required
  • Must understand appeals process
  • Must work every account every month
  • Follow-up on patient statements
Ophthalmic Photographer
  • Existing skill with fluorescein angiography, fundus photography, and OCT required
  • Demonstrate strong ophthalmology skills
  • Room patients
  • Obtain health histories
  • Dilate patients’ pupils, obtain visual acuity and intraocular pressures
  • Assist with in-office procedures
  • Perform diagnostic testing
  • Must show ability to maintain smooth patient flow consistently throughout the day
Office Assistant
  • Assist front desk in medical office, including filing, mail, and telephone communications
  • Demonstrate strong skills, attention to detail, and ability to progress
  • Clerical experience preferred
  • Attentional to detail is essential
  • Must show interest and desire to grow within the medical field
Payment Poster
  • Post payments from all payers from paper EOB’s and ERA
  • Identify denials and underpayments and understand which require follow-up
  • Alert other team members of payment issues
Surgery Scheduler
  • Schedule procedures at multiple surgery centers
  • Understand and coordinate all components of surgeries
  • Coordinate pre-operative and post-operative care and instruction
  • Understand authorization/referral requirements from all payers
  • Verify eligibility
  • Order surgical implants and drugs for scheduled cases
Clinical Research Coordinator
  • Assist in the planning, development and implementation of clinical trials
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols and Good Clinical Trials Practices
  • Complete source documents and case report forms
  • Recruit and screen study subjects, screening subjects
  • Interact with monitors and study sponsors
  • Participate in investigator and coordinator meetings
  • Arrange services needed to support the trial – such as scheduling and assisting examinations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the sciences, or other relevant field, with study coordinator experience preferred but not required.
Pre-Visit (Authorizations and Eligibility)
  • Understand authorization/referral requirements for all payers
  • Process authorizations and eligibility
  • Identify outstanding patient balances, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts due at the time of service
  • Communicate to clinical offices
Technician (Ophthalmic Assistant)
  • Room patients
  • Obtain health histories
  • Deliver diagnostic ophthalmic medications (topical anesthetics, dilating drops, etc.)
  • Obtain visual acuity and intraocular pressure measurements
  • Assist with in-office procedures
  • Perform diagnostic testing
  • Maintain consistent and smooth patient flow throughout the day
